Best Today AI alternatives in 2026

By Jake Luo · Published Oct 22, 2026

Today AI is a personal AI assistant at today.ai, published on the App Store by Today AI PTE. LTD. (a Singapore company) since 27 August 2026. Its own line is "your personal assistant that actually knows you — and acts before you ask": it keeps a living memory of your days, people and goals, sends a morning brief, works on tasks on cloud computers that can open a browser, handle files and run code, and connects to your calendar, mail, notes and files. It runs as a desktop app for Mac and Windows and as an iPhone app. today.ai publishes no price. Its Terms name three plans — Free, Pro and Ultra — and the US App Store, read on 22 October 2026, lists the in-app purchases at $20.00 for Today Pro Monthly and $200.00 for Today Ultra Monthly.

This page is about the assistant at today.ai — not the "Today AI Weather" app and not Today.tools. People looking past it usually want one of three things: an assistant that lives in the apps they already text in, one with a clearer free plan, or one centred on the inbox and calendar. If what you want is a general assistant for your day — plans, reminders, research, the errands — pick one of the first three below, or Today itself; AgentCeres is not a better general assistant and does not try to be. It is on this list for a narrower job: marketing, growth and a hosted website for a business, from $39 a month.

The shortlist

  1. Poke

    Top pick

A proactive assistant you text: it lives in Messages, WhatsApp and Telegram, connects to apps like Gmail, Notion and Oura, and sets up integrations and automations through shareable "recipes".

    Pros
    • Nothing new to install or open — you talk to it in the messaging app you already use, by text or voice message
    • A free plan with no card that still connects all your apps, plus email and calendar (poke.com/pricing, read 2026-10-22)
    • Pro at $19/month billed monthly adds frontier models and automations that keep running in the background
    Cons
    • Ultra is $199/month billed monthly, and usage past its credits is billed pay-as-you-go
    • Its homepage now carries a "Poke is joining Cognition" banner, so expect the product to change around you
    • A personal assistant: there is no website, search or ads work on its pages
    Pricing:
    Free; Pro $19/mo billed monthly
    Best for:
People who want an assistant in their texts rather than another app
  2. Muse by Meta

Meta's personal AI agent: you give it a goal once and it keeps working in the background across the apps you connect, with a small-business set of skills and connectors.

    Pros
    • Free for most of what people need, per Meta's own page; paid plans are Power at $20/month and Maximum at $100/month (Meta Help Center, read 2026-10-22)
    • Nothing publishes, sends or spends without your approval, and you see an audit trail of what it did and plans to do
    • Connects Facebook, Instagram and Meta ads in one step, plus Shopify, Stripe, QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Canva, Slack and more
    Cons
    • Available only to people 18 and over in the US and Canada, with no timing given for other markets
    • Paid plans are measured in Muse tokens per week (500M on Power, 3B on Maximum), so how far each goes depends on what you ask
    • Says it can spin up a product page, but describes no hosting, search or AI-answer work of its own
    Pricing:
    Free; Power $20/mo; Maximum $100/mo
    Best for:
US and Canadian owners whose business already runs on Facebook and Instagram
  3. Town

A personal AI assistant for inbox, calendar and meetings — morning briefings, inbox triage, drafts and scheduling, plus custom routines — that you reach by email, Slack, WhatsApp or Telegram.

    Pros
    • Free forever with no card: a weekly morning briefing, 30 chat messages a month and every Town integration, plus a 7-day Pro trial on signup
    • Starter at $15/month billed monthly adds a daily briefing, automatic inbox triage, drafts and scheduling, and two custom daily routines
    • Narrow on purpose — the admin of a busy day, done well, rather than everything at once
    Cons
    • Pro is $49/month per user and Power $99/month, both billed annually; a new Power Plus tier is $199/month per user, also billed annually
    • Work is metered in credits (1,250 a month on Starter, 5,000 on Pro)
    • It manages your day, not your marketing: no ads, content or website
    Pricing:
    Free; Starter $15/mo billed monthly
    Best for:
Owners who most want their inbox, calendar and meetings handled
  4. AgentCeres

A narrower job, labelled honestly: AgentCeres — the AI Growth Officer — is a managed AI marketing team, with SEO, GEO, social, ads, PR and community specialists, that also builds and hosts your website.

    • Growth Officer
    • Research agent
    • SEO agent
    • Social media agent
    • Ads agent
    • Influencer agent
    • Launch & PR agent
    • GEO agent
    • Community agent
    • Customer feedback agent
The whole team, on every planSee the team →
    Pros
    • Builds, publishes and hosts your pages, then reports their visits and form submissions back to you
    • Search work none of the assistants above describe: an SEO agent, and a GEO agent that checks whether AI answer engines cite you
    • Posts and emails wait for your approval by default, and an optional Auto mode can send the routine ones for you; a free plan, 14 days of trial with no card, then $39 or $99 a month
    Cons
    • Not a general assistant: it will not plan your trips, track your health or run your errands
    • No desktop or phone app and no computer of its own to operate — you work with it in a web dashboard
    • Costs money where Poke, Muse and Town start free: a small Free plan, then $39–$99/mo flat
    Pricing:
    Free plan; $39–$99/mo flat
    Best for:
Founders and small businesses whose gap is growth and a website, not their personal day

The price ladder has settled. Read side by side on the same day, these assistants price almost identically: a free plan to try, a first paid plan between $15 and $20 a month, and a top plan between $100 and $200 — Today's App Store listing ($20 and $200), Poke ($19 to start and $199 at the top, both billed monthly), Muse ($20 and $100) and Town ($15 billed monthly at the bottom, $199 billed annually at the top). So price is not the reason to choose one; where you want to talk to it is. Today is an app you open, Poke is a contact you text, Muse sits inside Meta, and Town reaches you by email and chat. Pick the one that matches where your day already happens. In our own signups, about three in four people arrive wanting a website first — that standing work, an SEO agent and a GEO agent on a site we host, is the one job here that is ours.

How we checked. Read on 22 October 2026: today.ai (homepage, downloads page and Terms of Service effective 7 September 2026), the US App Store listing for "Today: Personal AI Assistant", poke.com and poke.com/pricing (monthly prices; we did not read the yearly toggle), muse.ai/business, Meta's Help Center article on Muse subscriptions, and town.com/pricing. Today's Terms say prices can vary by region, currency, app store and rollout, so the App Store figures above are US prices. For the same comparison against Meta's agent, see Muse by Meta alternatives.

FAQ

How much does Today AI cost?
today.ai does not publish a price. Its Terms of Service, effective 7 September 2026, say Today offers Free, Pro and Ultra plans, that eligible accounts may get a 7-day Pro trial, and that Ultra has no free trial. The US App Store, read on 22 October 2026, lists Today Pro Monthly at $20.00 and Today Ultra Monthly at $200.00 as in-app purchases. The Terms add that prices can vary by region, currency, app store and previous subscription status, so check the price shown before you buy.
Is Today AI the same as the Today AI Weather app?
No. This page covers the personal assistant at today.ai, made by Today AI PTE. LTD. and sold as a desktop app for Mac and Windows and an iPhone app. Other products share the name, including a weather app called Today AI Weather and Today.tools; they are unrelated.
Can AgentCeres replace a personal assistant like Today?
No, and it is not meant to. AgentCeres does one job: marketing, growth and a website for a business — it builds and hosts your pages, writes posts and runs SEO and AI-answer visibility work, with posts and emails waiting for your approval by default. It never spends money you haven't approved. Inside a plan you approved it can pause, lower a budget or drop a keyword on its own; anything that would spend more or reach new people waits for your approval. For your personal day — reminders, trips, health, errands — use Today, Poke, Muse or Town.
